The wrestlers did decide it Will
I just refereed over 140 bouts this weekend at a USA Wrestling event. In every bout, the wrestlers had a chance to decide it by wrestling better than their opponent from the opening whistle to the last whistle.
I could not watch the ACC tourney live (we wrestled from 8am until 9pm on Sat) but watched the Sleight match last night. I love VT wrestling (and always wear my gear at State and National events) but with 1 stall call on you already, Sleigh needed to do a much better job of taking ownership of the situation and wrestling to the center after getting his first stalling call. In each of the restarts from the neutral, he steps back and moved backwards. That isn't going to buy you a lot of "love" from officials.
I think that stall call at that time was not great but Sleigh really didn't do himself any favors by continuing to make half-hearted attempts at being aggressive and backing away from the center of the mat.
